Ce Burmirhynchia-decorata n' est pas un mollusque ni un bivalve mais un ver marin. Il fait partie de la grande famille des Brachiopodes (4 000 genres fossiles pour 400 actuelles). Ce genre vit accroché sur des rochers grace à un appendice (pédoncule) qui sort de l' arrière de sa valve (ventrale) par un orifice (foramen) dans la partie la plus crochue. Celui qui nous occupe est de la période du Bathonien (Jurassique), on le trouve dans les Deux-Sèvres. Donc famille Brachiopodes, genre Rhynchonelle (avec un ou deux N!!!!), articulé. Taille: 30 mm.
This Burmirhynchia-decorata is not a gastropod nor a bivalve, but a marine worm. It belongs to the family of Brachiopodes (4 000 fossils genera for 400 currents). This genus lives hooked up on the rocks with help to an appendix ( peduncle ) that comes from the rear of the valve (ventral) through a hole (foramen) in the most hooked part. This one who we occupes is to the period of Bathonian (Jurassic), is found in the Deux-Sevres. So Brachiopods family, genus Rhynchonella (with one or two N !!!!), articulated. Size: 30 mm.
